In an open source world, Net Neutrality wouldn’t be debated, it would be lived and every person would have access to internet, which would kill corruption and inequality because every person would be a journalist and uploading videos and anything they see, everyone would see thus there would be a more informed and free population. 19 Wine on ReactOS Services Windows applications System libraries kernel32 ntdll user32 gdi32 DirectX User mode Kernel mode Executive win32k HAL Kernel.

If Mac and Windows were open source, there would be millions more new OS then today, and it wouldn’t be about applications, it would be about new creative user interfaces and features never before thought of, because developers haven’t had the freedom to use completely free open source code for literally anything.

Hmmm, If Windows was open source, people would be using all sorts of Operating systems actually, linux, unix, windows clones and systems not yet even devised yet, but everyone and I mean everyone would have access to the same software and all that software would work. At least that’s how I see it.įresh air and fresh information, both should be freely available to drive our democratic futures forward. To force people to pay for Computers or Internet is almost like forcing them to pay for going outside. Then either going to work or going to play. Then when I go on the internet, it’s almost like climbing out of that window. Except I can’t always get a good view of the outside from a window. To me a computer is no different then a window. I am really indifferent about Reactos, BSD, SyllableOS, Haiku, MenuetOSĪs long as people find something that they are comfortable using and which fits their needs,(for free) it doesn’t matter to me in the least. I think that what should be done is the enactment of an open source society, where information is available for the benefit of life, nature and our collective futures, not for personal gain. That’s what Microsoft does and worse yet, it’s what hospitals and governments do. To think that they are hiding information from people for the sake of profit so that no one can scrutinize it or judge it’s validity. mpla圓2 and Calculator.Ummm how is that funny? It seems sad to me. All of these were taken mostly from XP, a few from W98, and one or two from W7. If you want to check out the ReactOS versions of MSPaint, Spider, Calculator, Mpla圓2, etc, then get'em here.Ħ:46:34 GMT -8 The Jackal said:Next up, classic Windows programs that came with the OS. These are impossible to find on their own, so I ripped them from a ReactOS install. ReactOS has it's own version of classic Windows games and programs like the ones above. This website: Goldmine of great programs. This handy little tool allows you to tweak your taskbar to your liking, icluding removing those annoying tab previews in W10 and hiding the taskbar's desktop icon. Don't let the name fool you into thinking this only works on W7 it works fine on 8, 8.1 and 10 as well. If like me, you still use CDs/DVDs, and are lazy, then might I suggest WinEject? Allows you to eject and close the disc tray from the taskbar.ħ+ Taskbar Tweaker. It works on all modern Windows, but you get far more options with W7. If you want to change icons on your computer, my suggestion would be to use CustomiserGod. If you want more control, then DirectX Control Panel might be want you want.

If you want a better, customizable one, that includes a better, more classic Calendar, then download TClock.ĭirectX Dialog doesn't include all options. It's also skinnable, and thus works/looks great with Classic Theme. Volume2, a third party, free replacement works and looks so much nicer. Allows you to convert sounds though.ĭefault Volume Control in W7/8/10 is ugly.

Sound Recorder doesn't record, but I've not tried it much - it could be fixed via compatibility settings. Master Volumes load, but like CD Player, don't actually allow you to control the OS volume. The Deluxe version WILL detect discs, but volume adjustment is broken, so you can't increase it from the program, only from the OS. Most of them work fine, except CD Player, which will detect what drives you have (both virtual or physical), but won't detect any CDs you insert. Programs included: Wordpad (98), Writer (Original version of Wordpad), DXDiag (XP), Notepad (98), CD Player, Deluxe CD Player, Calculator (98), Calculator (W7), Sound Recorder (98), Mpla圓2, MSPaint (98), Master Volume (98), Master Volume (XP), Telnet (98) and XP End of Service notice (Useless, but I thought I'd include it anyway!). Next up, classic Windows programs that came with the OS.
